"Life has its ways, of testing a person's will"
Survivor of 18 hospital trips in 23months. This is one that we really feel for.
Attack of the stomach, severe diarrhoea, bloody stools & vomit are what this extremely strong mom has to watch her son experience almost everyday.
The younger premature boy, Norris, has Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis1. Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis is a very rare condition which currently has no cure. The exposure to this illness in Singapore is currently close to none. In normal circumstances, the Eosinophils which are a type of white blood cells attack parasites that enter our bodies. However, in the case of Norris, the eosinophils sees food as parasites. Therefore, when he eats, the eosinophils attack the stomach and the intestines, causing them to be inflamed leading to ulcers. This results in Norris experiencing extreme stomach pains, large amount of blood in stools, prolonged unexplained diarrhoea and the vomiting of blood. 23 months now, Norris has been having these symptoms since a month old.
